The Broadmoor – Colorado at its Best

Winter Break

We went to The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs just after Christmas. It’s an hour and a half from downtown Denver. The holiday lights still glowed brightly as did the enormous 100th annual Gingerbread house. We stayed 3 children and 2 adults to a room without issue. The beds and linens were 5 star and, in fact, took a picture of them so that I could order them at home. In deference to the kids, we dined next to the bowling alley on typical pub-type food. Reserve the bowling early well in advance since there are only four lanes. If bowling and pub food are not for you, there are numerous other restaurants including Italian (Restorante del Lago) and a steak place. The Broadmoor property is enormous with every kind of activity you can imagine. While I did not partake personally, I am told by my daughters that the spa was first-rate.

Coffee At 8500 feet above sea level – Fantastic

How does it compare with other resorts? Think of The Broadmoor as the Kohler Resort in Kohler, Wisconsin, albeit larger and surrounded by mountains.
